Product Description

HR Prof can be used to Fire rate wood to Class ‘0’ Spread Of Flame Certification. But when protected by HR Prof wood will not ignite in the worst of domestic or commercial fires. It will only charcoal form. HR Prof gives peace of mind and saves lives and reduces damage to buildings in the event of fire.

HR Prof is easy to use and very competitively priced compared to other fire protection products. Unlike intumescent varnishes that are applied over 3 or 4 days HR Prof can be applied in 2 – 3 hours. HR Prof is an impregnation that penetrates deeply into the wood. HR Prof can be used internally on wooden floors, walls and ceilings or externally on decking, cladding, facia boards, log cabins and pavilions etc.

HR Prof is water based, non-hazardous and safe to use.

Specification
To the bare, dry, clean wood apply 270ml/m² of HR Prof. This loading rate can normally be applied in two liberal coats. HR Prof can be applied by brush, roller, spray gun or garden type sprayer.

When fully dry (one to seven days depending on the job and site drying conditions) HR Prof can be overcoated to achieve an aesthetic finish.

Not all products can be applied over HR Prof we recommend that a trial is carried out to check that your preferred aesthetic top coats will dry and adhere. We have trialled many different types of top coats already and can advise you by e-mail or phone. If HR Prof is going to be left without a finish then we recommend trials are carried out. If the wood is going to be used internally then trial internally but if the wood is going to be applied to timber externally then set up a trial externally. Make sure the HR Prof is fully dry (use a moisture meter before and afterwards to make sure) and allow to weather to check that there is no reaction that adversely affects the appearance of the wood. This is necessary because there are over 1000 types of wood available and they can have very different properties. For further information either see the data sheet or contact us by e-mail or phone.
